Swedish energy infrastructure company Ingrid Capacity has entered a strategic partnership with sustainable investment firm Mirova, which will invest €65 million in two battery energy storage system (BESS) projects totaling 145 MW / 290 MWh in Sweden and Finland.
The portfolio includes the 100 MW / 200 MWh Vaggeryd BESS, located in Sweden’s SE3 electricity price area, and the 45 MW / 90 MWh Pedersöre BESS, located in Finland. Ingrid Capacity will develop, operate, and optimize both assets under the strategic agreement including full technical and commercial asset management, which is a full vertical big battery play.
Mirova, an affiliate of Natixis Investment Managers, stated that the projects are the first in the company’s Nordic Storage Platform (NSP) and represent its first BESS partnership in the Nordics. The Pedersöre project is at the ready-to-build stage, while the Vaggeryd project is expected to reach ready-to-build status in 2027.
Antoine Blayau, investment director at Mirova, outlined that the company had an offtake agreement for Pedersöre.
“This initial portfolio is underpinned by attractive market fundamentals and a resilient risk-return profile, including an offtake agreement for the Pedersöre project. We look forward to scaling the platform and supporting the development of more resilient energy systems across the Nordic region,” said Blayau.
Following the strategic partnership, Ingrid Capacity now has 950 MWh of assets under management. Back in May 2026, the company secured a senior bond issue of €35 million to finance its European expansion, notably in France.
