Chinese manufacturer Jackery unveiled its latest battery energy storage innovations at IFA 2026 in Berlin, yet outside of the main announcement, one significantly larger-than-normal product on the show floor caught attention.
Jackery’s Energycore 100 kWh liquid-cooled energy is what it says on the box, and it’s paired with a PowerVault 50 three-phase hybrid inverter, as it seeks to target larger homes and off-grid applications, while leaving the commercial and light industrial sector to a different product range.
The 1.5 ton package is being targeted for production and retail availability, but it’s early days. Jackery reps indicated that it would be somewhere around 1-2 years away before availability, as the company perfects the build and executes on its go-to-market strategy.
The build is deliberately executed around logistics, with portability tied to the likelihood of needing small cranes or machinery to move it into place.
Energycore 100 kWh specs
In terms of technology, on the energy storage side, the unit pairs with an 800 V lithium-ion architecture (120 V–800 V operating range) with a maximum charge/discharge current of 2 x 80 A. The floor-mounted outdoor battery cabinet has four crane hooks for installation on top, and incorporates liquid cooling designed to limit cell temperature variance to ±3°C.
The system, as it currently is being built, delivers a sub-10 ms UPS transfer time, black-start functionality, and offers a dedicated 50 kVA diesel generator port. It provides 150% peak backup capacity (75 kW for 10 seconds), carries an IP66 ingress protection rating, and operates across an ambient temperature range of -40°C to 60°C.
On the inverter side, which Jackery representatives said was currently being sourced versus built in-house, the PowerVault 50 inverter’s current specs feature an AC nominal power output of 50 kW at 230/400 V, with 100% unbalanced three-phase load capability.
On the DC side, the unit accommodates up to 100 kW of PV input across four independent MPPTs (each rated at 42 A operating current, 63 A short-circuit current) over an operating voltage window of 150 V to 950 V. The inverter claims a maximum efficiency of 98.6% and supports up to 200% DC/AC oversizing.

In terms of other new products, Jackery was showing the American Red Cross Explorer 2000 Plus V2 ahead of its US release. The battery comes in a 2 kWh size in a classic portable build, in all red. It also offers a new automated Storm Warning Function and Emergency Reserve Mode, for responding to emergency situations. It’s part of a “Power the Rescuers” campaign, with the help of the American Red Cross, Jackery saying it will donate 10% of profits from every unit sold.
“7-layer” safety
Jackery was touting a shift in brand ethos further towards safety. The company announced the ‘FortiShield Safety System’, which it saud was the industry’s “first comprehensive 7-layer security framework” tailored to meet “the specific operational demands of every device category.”
In terms of actual hardware and software elements to the system, the layers include integrating origin protection at the battery cell level, alongside intelligent BMS monitoring and heat-insulating structural design. It further incorporates fault and emergency protection, extreme environmental resistance, and end-to-end data privacy, ensuring uniform dependability across all applicable product tiers.
Jackery didn’t have a display that explained this further at its booth, but promised ongoing information releases.
