Aldesa, a subsidiary of Chinese group China Railway Construction Corp. (CRCC), has secured a turnkey contract to build a solar-plus-storage project in Mexico featuring 420 MWp of photovoltaic capacity and a 150 MW battery energy storage system (BESS).
The contract, valued at more than EUR 160 million, includes detailed engineering, construction, equipment supply, and commissioning of the facilities.
The interconnection infrastructure will operate at 400 kV and will include more than 24 km of transmission lines between substations that will also be built as part of the project.
The company has not identified the project owner, location, expected construction schedule, or estimated operational date. It has also not disclosed the battery system’s energy capacity in MWh, meaning its storage duration cannot be determined.
The project will be executed under an engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) contract, under which Aldesa will be responsible for delivering the works through to completion and commissioning.
Aldesa operates in construction, infrastructure, energy, industry, and concessions. The company, owned by China Railway Construction Corp. (CRCC), has more than 50 years of activity and projects in 15 countries.
